22nd May 2002: Austin Powers 3 Update: Review Online
(8.01am)
Aint
It Cool News have posted the first review of Austin Powers
In Goldmember on their site. The review, from a test screening
of the film, was very positive indeed with the scooper saying
that while the film still isn't as good as The Spy Who Shagged
Me, it still rocks and has several laugh out loud moments. Check
out the paragraph below and hit the link for the full review,
but beware as there are spoilers.
"I want to be entertained and laugh and thats what I
got even if many of the jokes are based on pissing, farting
or various other bodily functions. If you couldn't find humor
in the other Austin movies then well, just stay away because
it's more of the same. But if you, like me tend to regress to
an infantile state of mind while watching these films then you
are going to love it. Hell, even my middle aged mother loves
these movies". More...

21st May 2002: Episode III Update: Jackson Talks
(10.37pm)
Entertainment
Weekly have been talking to Mace Windu himself, about the
third prequel in the Star Wars saga.
On April 25, Lucas officially began prepping ''Episode III''
with the first meeting of his design team. Production on the
final ''Star Wars'' movie is slated to begin on June 26, 2003,
in Australia. Finally, audiences will learn how Anakin's marriage
ended and why he started breathing heavy as Darth Vader. There
will also be much death. ''Oh, I know I die,'' says Jackson.
''I just asked George to make sure I don't die like some punk.''
Lucas
believes ''Episode III'' will be the harshest of the movies.
''If you were a studio,'' he says, ''I'm sure you would say,
'This is way too dark. You're really going to alienate your
audience.' But what can I do? That's the story.''

May 2002: Arlington Road 2 On The Way
Filmmaker Mark Pellington has been speaking to the Australian
movie site Moviehole
about a proposed sequel to the Jeff Bridges/ Tim Robinns hit
Arlington Road.
We've actually talked about doing a sequel to Arlington Road
called 'Grants Revenge'," explains Pellington. "The
kid comes back, a few years later, to seek revenge on Tim
Robbins and Joan Cusack's characters, but gets entangled in
the terrorist life himself". But Pellington admits his
films have never made enough money to garner interest in a
sequel.
"I'm
next doing something lighter, but it's not set-up yet. It's
a cross between 'Mulholland Drive' and 'Deathtrap'. It's about
a female writer's struggle to do original stuff, and its called
Dolly Dimple," he explains. "There's a heap of people
I'd love to work with Russell Crowe, Naomi Watts, Jennifer
Connelly, Johnny Depp. I'd also work with Gere again too.
He, like most of the people I've worked with, have been open
to my style, and should a project come up that he would be
appropriate for, I wouldn't at all oppose it".
