Wars Episode III Updated :
29th May 2002: Star Wars Episode III
Update:
David Prowse, the guy who played Darth
Vader in the original trilogy, hopes to return to the role
in Episode III.
"I
would love to reprise the Darth Vader role," Prowse
told Reuters. "If I am 100 percent physically able,
and they offer the part to someone else, I would be very disappointed."
Prowse undergoes a hip replacement operation in September,
"I should be walking properly by Christmas and can get
back into the gym and training. I am going to surprise them
all next year," he said. He added, "If Christopher
Lee [who plays Count Dooku in Star Wars: Episode IIAttack
of the Clones] can handle a lightsaber at the age of 80, then
so can I."
May
the force be with you David.
27th
May 2002: Star Wars Episode III Update:
George Lucas has been speaking to E!
News Daily where he was asked the question of why C-3PO doesn't
recognize Vader in A New Hope.
"Well, one, his brains have, his memory system has
been erased and so has R2's. So, they don't remember anything
from the first trilogy. I'm telling you something from Episode
3, but I shouldn't be telling you that, but I think most of
the fans already know that".
Hmm. It's also been revealed that Natalie Portman will shoot
additional scenes to be included in Episode VI - Return Of
The Jedi, during the filming of Episode III, next year.
20th May 2002: Star Wars Episode II Update:
Well, here we go again. Attack Of The Clones was released
in cinemas worldwide just four days back and took in the region
of $89 million at the US box-office alone. The film didn't
quite match the huge box-office take of Sam Raimi's Spiderman,
but it was screened on much fewer screens. To check out the
latest Episode II - Attack Of The Clones news, please check
out our preview page. We'll post details on the DVD release
and more when available.
I'll kick off this Episode III page
with a little news that surfaced today over at ITV.com,
the official website of the UK's biggest commercial TV station.
The site posted an interview with Hayden Christensen that
revealed a little more about Episode III.
Now episode 3 the inevitable
episode 3 question are you looking forward to going
badder and playing Darth Vader and having that moment with
the helmet?
HC:
Oh yeah I'm desperately awaiting filming episode 3,
because it'll be a lot of fun in my opinion in terms of my
characters development and getting to really commit to making
that transformation into Darth Vader will be a lot of fun
and everything that happens in the next film not that
George has told me anything, but what you can extract from
the previous trilogy I think everything will just go
to chaos and all the grammar will be set up so it will just
be a lot of fun.
MN:
And you say George hasn't told you anything have you
told him anything that you would like to do what youd
expect for the character?
HC:
Not really - it's his moulding of it really and how he sees
fit, but I have sort of nagged him a little bit about getting
to wear the dark helmet and Darth Vader's costume, and he
sort of gives me the wink, wink, nudge, nudge that I will
so that would be really cool, but other than that they're
asking me to put on a little bit of weight or size
I'm not going to go De Niro and get real fat but just so I
can be wicked with a light sabre, so I think there are going
to be some pretty extensive fight sequences in the next one
especially between Obi Wan and myself and that'll be fun.
