Ali G In Da House Based On : The character Ali G created by Sacha Baron Cohen. First appeared on The 11 'O Clock Show but Ali soon had his own show 'Da Ai G Show'.
Premise/Synopsis : Ali G is appointed as the Staines member of parliament, and from there he gets into the Government cabinet as a close advisor to the Prime Minister (played by Michael Gambon on autopilot). Hoping that Ali will lose the PM popularity points, the deputy Prime Minister Charles Dance plots various stunts, involving Ali, to oust Gambon from office.

On Friday night I had the pleasure of checking out Ali G In Da House with a couple of my mates. Great night out, have a read........

"Cohen and Dan Mazar's script is okay, the only flaw being the tedious moments between gags when the film's plot is being fleshed out, but director Mark Myrod keeps thing failry well paced and the next hilarious moment is only just around the corner to keep the viewer interested . The comedy timing throughout is absolutley spot on, epecially that superb opening scene.

But this is a fun movie and it cannot be taken too seriously. Die hard Ali G fans will love it. For everyone else i'm sure most will have a great night out. Just don't take your Nan.

Instantly forgettable, but ultimately enjoyable". (full review)

The Sun newspaper over here in the UK carried a story today that has British Dj and TV star Jimmy Savile claiming that Ali G copied him to get his look. The 75 year old, knighted a few years back, had this to say,

“He’s made a fortune out of me. If I wasn’t here, he would be skint. Ali G wears tracksuits and bulky jewellery like I started doing on the telly in 1961. He must go to the charity shops I give my old tracksuits to!”

Savile is known for wearing dodgy track suits and loads of gold jewellery around his neck and wrists. Savile was a huge TV star in the 60's, 70's and 80's presenting shows like Jim'll Fix It and Top Of The Pops. For the full story and pics, check out todays Sun.

The Sun have posted pics from the Jamaica shoot of Ali G and Shaggy's video for Me Julie, due for release in March. The track will feature on the Ali G In Da House movie. The site also posted a postcard from Ali himself.....aiiiii! Check it.

Also Sacha Baron Cohen and Shaggy were last week down in Jamaica making the video for their song 'Me Julie' which will be released around the same time as the movie. The song sees Ali G duet with the R 'n' B star and today British newspaper The Sun, printed some of the x-rated lyrics, “Me go so hmmmm and make a connection/ She hear me voice and get a nipple erection/ We be banging to a Shaggy selection, one time for me Julie.” Check out The Sun for the rest...... The song is said to be making its debut at next month's Brit Awards bash in London.

Heat magazine scored two pics from Ali G In Da House. They included the very first pics of actress Kellie Bright, who plays Julie in the film. The current issue of Heat is on sale in the UK now. (Pics sent in by 'Chris')

An exclusive Ali G In Da House trailer aired on British TV today on Channel 4's 'The Big Breakfast' programme. The trailer hits British cinemas next week and features an excellent parody of Will Smith's Ali movie (and it's a little cleaner that's already online - see the dirty one here). Anyway, we have some screen grabs that were sent to us earlier from a scooper named 'Sam'.

Page created. With a little over three months to go until this movie is released, we bring you the hilarious first trailer featuring Ali and his dog Tupac. Ali G is of course based on the popular character, created by comedian Sacha Baron Cohen that originated from Channel 4's 'The 11 O' Clock Show, here in the UK. The film is produced by Working Title and will be

released by Universal in the UK. The official site has only a trailer at the moment, but you've got to see it. Download it in Low Res or High Res (both Quicktime). The film is released on March 22nd in the UK, April 11th in the Netherlands and 18th July in Germany.

The film is written by Sasha Baron Cohen who plays Ali G too and Dan Mazar, who also produced Da Ali G Show and The 11 O' Clock Show for Channel 4. Ali G In Da House is directed by Steve Bendelack, who has directed TV shows The Royle Family, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and The League Of Gentleman. He makes his feature film debut with Ali G In Da House. FIlming took place earlier this year in Egham, Staines and Isleworth in England and also in Los Angeles.
