"The
first one was good but the rest sucked" - so said Drew Barrymore
in Scream. This is the seventh part of the Nightmare on Elm
Street series and it needed a great idea to stop it being
as crappy as the other Nightmare sequels, and so Wes Craven
(now one of my favourite directors) decided to do it himself.
He came up with the idea of having Freddy (Robert Englund)
haunt the dreams of the actors that appeared in the first
one (also directed by Craven) and it makes for an original
and good film.
The
film centres around Heather Langenkamp and her son who are
dreaming the plot of the upcoming film as it is being written
and all sorts of shenanigens occur as Freddy starts killing
people as they dream it.
Although the ending was a bit like a horror version of the
Labyrinth me and my brother thought it was a good film that
would probably be made better if you have seen any of the
previous films. It's funnier that way!
