Cheech Marin has commented on Spy Kids
2 in a short interview with the Chicago
Sun-Times,
Q. Cheech, you are one of the last people we expected in kids'
movie. What has been the fallout?
A. It's unbelievable. The best part of it is that my daughter
now can see one of my movies. She even wanted to be in "Spy
Kids II," and I got her a small part as my daughter.
But it's funny because the other day she said, ''Dad, what
kind of lines do I have?'' I feel like her manager.
Q. Tell us all the secrets of "Spy Kids II."
A. We start filming it in October. I haven't got the faintest
idea about the plot. Director Robert Rodriguez keeps it to
himself. I just hope I have more stunts. I did all my fight
scenes in the first one. All I know is that we're really focused
on the kids this time around again, and we have to start filming
soon before those kids grow even taller. But, hey, that's
part of the plot. The kids are growing bigger and bigger. Full
interview here....

Robert Rodriguez underwent a Q + A in
this month's Disney Adventures. He revealed rather a lot about
the planned sequel.
Q. Now that Carmen and Juni are spies,
do any of their friends know about their secret identities?
A. No one at school knows they are spies. But the principal
is suspicious because they are always asking for "sick
days" to go on missions.
Q. What do their rooms look like now? Any hidden devices or
secret doors?
A. Their rooms are completely gadget automated. They don't
even have to tie their shoes in the morning. They have a gadget
for everything - even an automated room cleaner.
Q.
What new gadgets will they have in Spy Kids 2?
A. They will have more gadgets than they can handle! One is
the spy-copter, a cool helicopter built for two kids. They
also have a metal lunch box that opens with a secret code,
which they don't know. In the sequel, you'll see all the cool
gadgets inside it.
Q.
Will they go on a mission with their parents instead of rescuing
them?
A. Yes they will share missions with their parents.
The press release for the special edition of Spy Kids reveals

Page created. Not a great detail to report bu expect the movie
to go into production in late 2001 after the SAG strike in
the summer. Director Ribert Rodriguez is likely to film this
after he completes work on Once
Upon A Time in Mexico. And according to AICN,
the working title for the sequel is Spy Kids 2: The Island
Of Lost Dreams.
