With Insomnia's release iminent, distributor Warner Brothers have released three clips from the Al Pacino/ Robin Williams starrer, directed by Christopher 'Memento' Nolan. Click on the links below to download.

Robin Williams has been talking to news website Ananova about his upcoming movies Insomnia and One Hour Photo. He describes both movies as "really strange, bizarre pieces. For me, it is like Picasso's blue period. I do a dark period now," Williams said. "I'm going into my orange period next.
If you keep doing dark, dark characters then the surprise value is gone. So you have to find something else," he said.

The official site is now up and running in all its glory for Christopher Nolan's Insomnia. The flash site, of which has just opened needs a pretty fast connection, but its worth checking out. It's very similar to the Memento site that went up about a year ago to coincide with that movies release. The Insomnia site is up at DontCloseYourEyes.com, so check it out, it's very ..........different.

The official website for Insomnia is now up and running. On the site you can view the latest images that have been released including the one on the left, download various wallpapers featuring the lead actors, post on the sites message boards, view the trailer and find out more on the story.

For those interested, there is a script review of Insomnia up over at Screenwriters Utopia. This is a negative review however.

Dark Horizons scored a pic from Insomnia. Warner Brothers released a number of images from films that they are releasing this year. Check out the image on the right and click-thru to DH.

The official site to this promising new thriller starring Al Pacino and Robin Williams is now open, but at the moment only includes a brief synopsis of the film.

"Sent to a small Alaska town to investigate the murder of a teenage girl, a veteran police officer (Al Pacino) is forced into a game of psychological cat-and-mouse by a primary suspect (Robin Williams) after his partner is killed. The stakes escalate as he contends with an idealistic detective (Hilary Swank) and finds his own stability dangerously threatened.

Insomnia stars Al Pacino, Hilary Swank, Robin Williams, Martin Donovan, Nicky Katt, Jay Brazeau, Maura Tierney, Jonathan Jackson, Paul Dooley, Katherine Isabelle, Tasha Simms and Larry Holden.

It is directed by Christopher Nolan and produced by Paul Witt, Ed McDonnell, Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson".

Empire magazine also revealed that Warner Brothers initially wanted to go with a main stream A list director for Insomnia, but Geroge Clooney and Steven Soderburgh (behind Section 8 Productions) persuaded them to go with Memento director Christopher Nolan

2/5/01 - The movie is now in production. They started work back on 16th April and Robin Williams is definately on board.

- Variety has reported that Robin Williams is in talks to play the villain in Insomnia.
