12th April 200 Hulk Updated
Just received an email from a scooper
named Alice who sent in news that one of her calendars will
be used in Bruce Banner's lab in the upcoming Hulk movie.
Small news according to Alice, but news none the less,
"Well this is only a microscopic scoop to you, though
it's a big one to
me. 3 weeks ago Universal Studios contacted me to ask if they
could use
my fractal calendar in the Incredible Hulk movie. I signed
an agreement
and faxed it to them. My calendar will hang in Bruce Banner's
lab. I know
this is peanuts, but hey, I'm the only one *I* know with a
contract with
Universal Studios! :) I am so glad to see that the movie is
going to be
so very interesting. I wonder if there's an Oscar for Best
Appearance by
a Calendar in a Motion Picture...?--Alice"
Thanks Alice, and to see the calendar in question, please
visit her site.
27th February 2002 Hulk Updated
Eric Bana has been discussing his lead
role in The IncredibleHulk to Empire
in their April issue, due to hit stores on March 1st.
'I think the Hulk is the only reluctant superhero,' Bana
tells the magazine. 'Superman puts on the cape, Spider-Man
puts on the suit and Batman goes into the cave, but The Hulk
has no control and for me that's an awesome prospect.'
He also states that, 'The Hulk is not the size of a human
being, I play both but I can't say how we do that. I'm meant
to look like a scientist though,"' which sounds as
if the Hulk will be created using at least a little CGI as
previousley thought........
5th February 2002 Hulk Updated
It's been rumoured that The Hulk will
totally destroy one of the US's biggest landmarks. SuperheroHype
reports, "There are some surprises in store for you.
How does twisting the Golden Gate bridge into a pretzel sound?"
10th December 2001 Hulk Updated
Ten months since we last updated the
page, so a lot to catch up on. Eric bana is attached to star
in he lead role of David Banner and Jennifer Connelly will
play Betty Ross in the film, directed by Ang Lee. Recently,
Connelly spoke with SciFi.com
about why she decided to take part in The Hulk,
"I asked [Ang Lee] why he wanted to make The Hulk,
and he said, 'Well, it's really a Greek tragedy. It's actually
a psychodrama,' He talks about the rage inside all of us,
he talks about fathers and sons, and he's talking about using
a heightened format to get at something really profound that
is otherwise more difficult to access. So, I'm hearing it
like Brechtian theater. "It's really interesting and
ambitious. He's not talking about a guy running around in
green tights and a glossy fun-filled movie for kids. He's
talking along the lines of tragedy and psychodrama. I find
it interesting, the green monster of rage and greed, jealousy
and fear in all of us." (appeared at SciFi.com)
Eric Bana, star of this years Chopper had this to say a while
back when he was first cast in the movie;
"I am absolutely blown away. The Incredible Hulk was
one of my all-time favourite TV shows as a kid. I play both
Bruce Banner and the Hulk but I can't tell how it happens".
(from The Sunday Herald Sun and TV's The Panel).
Bana also spoke with AICN
about the project;
"It's directed by Ang Lee- the guy who did Crouching
Tiger Hidden Dragon and The Ice Storm". Bana continues
"I play Bill Bixby's character the mild manerred Bruce
Banner and the psycopathic Hulk." Adding, "Yeah
Psychotic again", refering to his role in "Chopper".
"It's a big secret" is all Bana would say about
how his character would turn into the Hulk. "It's filmed
in L.A, and I will be there for six months of next year doing
that". (appeared at Aint
It Cool News).
Bana did let a little more slip on an Australian TV show,
reported by Coming
Soon;
"The only thing he mentioned would be that it was
Ang Lee direction, based on the TV series, but this time being
chased from town to town by the military over an incident
involving an innocent, small child injured by the HULK is
what I have heard, not this space bizzo (business, excuse
my Aussie)". (originally appeared at Coming
Soon).
More news as I get it.
7/3/01
- Ang Lee has confirmed that work (shooting) on the Hulk movie
won't start until after the actor's strike, although it seems
that locations have started to be scouted. (From Coming
Attractions) 'We're told that Hulk producers scouted the
Lawrence Berkeley Lab today looking for suitable locations
that had a "scary looking science stuff" feel to
it.'
