Doctor Strange is yet another Marvel comic's character that is in development as a movie. This project has had quite a difficult time in development hell. One name keeps getting mentioned in connection with it though. David Goyer.

Let's have a peek through what has happened and see where it may be going. First word on this movie was of a script by David Goyer and the screenplay based round that was by a Jeff Welch. But things got stuck in yeah olde development hell when marvel had its money problems a few years back.

At that time it was Columbia who held the rights to Doctor Strange, and what with Marvel's money problems the rights were lost to them.This naturally would kill off the script by David Goyer as Columbia would own that. Don Murphy was producing the movie for Columbia at that time. Chuck Russell was alos thought to be attached to direct as well.

But Marvel took Doctor Strange back from Columbia once the money problem's were sorted out.

But David Goyer continues to be talked about in connection with Doctor Strange and the latest word is he is in talks to write the script for Doctor Strange. Goyer is quite hot at the moment as soem of you should know having written the screenplay for another Marvel character Ghost Rider.
