:
Sir
Thomas Fairfax (Dougray Scott), though aristocratic by
birth, commanded the
Parliamentary
armies during
the English Civil Wars. In the aftermath of years of bloodshed
and chaos, Fairfax found himself increasingly stranded between
his loyalty to the revolutionary cause of his comrade Oliver
Cromwell (Tim Roth) and the loyalty he owed to his wife Lady
Anne (Olivia Williams) and their shared class. Cromwells
determination to change the face of English society led directly
to the Execution of King Charles I an act of treachery
that Fairfax was unable to condone. (More

We
have had two brand new images from Cromwell & Fairfax
sent in to us courtesy of an anonymous scooper.
The first image (left) sees Tim Roth and Dougray Scott
squaring off, and the pic on the
right is
of the lovely Olivia Williams who plays Lady Fairfax in the
film.

I've been receiving a lot of pics of
Dougray Scott and information on his role in Cromwell and
Fairfax, but not a lot to do with Tim Roth who plays Oliver
Cromwell in the film. Tim-Roth.com
have been sent a few pics of Roth on set, probably by the
same scooper who provided us with the first look at Scott
as Fairfaz, and you can check them out by clicking
here.

Sylvia
over at Dougray Scott In Focus had four or five stills
sent over to her from Cromwell & Fairfax. They came
from a source who wants to remain anonymous.

'Mr Gray' sent us in this exclusive
set pic from Cromwell and Fairfax, now shooting. The film,
starring Tim Roth opposite Dougray Scott has recently
been filming in the Fellow's Garden of Exeter college
in Oxford, England. Mr Gray informs us that the production
is almost complete and the VFX people have begun to shoot
extra
footage
for thier purposes. '[the] Hampton Court Palace is very pissed
because we pulled up all the grass in the court yard! Backing
looks to be in place once more and all looks OK'.
Thanks
to Mr Gray, and click on the image to enlarge.

It seems that Jeremy Thomas, the producer
of such movies as Sexy Beast, Brother and the upcoming Young
Adam has rescued Cromwell and Fairfax by putting together
a distribution deal to allow the film to continue shooting.
The movie, starring Dougray Scott opposite Tim Roth resumed
filming last week.
(thanks to Josie for the information).

Cromwell and Fairfax sees Tim Roth star as Oliver Cromwell
opposite Dougray Scott's Thomas Fairfax. Cromwell & Fairfax
is the classic story of love, jealousey and the lust set against
a backdrop of civil war in the year 1645. The film also sees
Rupert Everett in the role of King Charle I. Other cast members
include Sir Ian Holm, Olivia Williams, Corin Redgrave and
James Bolam.
On board to helm the feature is Best Laid Plans director Mike
Barker whilst producing is Kevin Loader (Captain Corelli's
Mandolin).
Production company Natural Nylon are behind the movie, the
firm set up by actors Jude Law, Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller,
Sean Pertwee and Sadie Frost. Eleven Weeks of principal photography
kicked off on January 20th of this year although the production
has recently come into a little difficulty due to financing.
Variety report that the shoot has indeed been halted (as of
February 11th 2002). The films budget is set at around $21
Million.
For some pics and promo posters for the film, take a look
at the excellent site that is Dougray
Scott In Focus, my thanks go to them for some of the information
posted on this page.
