Well, it had to happen didn't it. The immense popularlty of Steve Irwin around the world has persuaded MGM to greenlight a motion picture based on The Crocodile Huinter series starring Steve as himself. He stars alongside his wife Terri as well as Steve Bastoni (who has just worked on The Matrix Reloaded), Magda Szubanski and Lachy Hulme.

There's also a vicious rumour circulating that Paul Hogan may pop up in the film as Crocodile Dundee (PLESE NO!!!).

Upon researching material for this page I was amazed to find out that Irwin is virtually unknown in his own country. His popularity in the UK is so great that his shows pull in millions of viewers when they air on terrestrial channel ITV1. So he is popular, but how will he do when he transfers from small screen to silver screen?

The film is set to be released in the US on June 28th 2002.
